Adrien emond
Séguret

Adrien Emond is one of the Rhône Valley's most promising young winemakers, bringing a distinctly Burgundian mindset to the historic vineyards of Séguret. After graduating with a degree in Viticulture & Oenology from Beaune, Adrien built his experience at some of France's most respected domaines, including Domaine Cécile Tremblay, Domaine Faiveley, François Carillon, and Domaine Santa Duc.

His journey across Burgundy and the Rhône shaped a philosophy centred on precision, balance and terroir expression. Today, Adrien has established his own domaine, producing small quantities of Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret from exceptional old vine parcels. His ambition is simple: to craft wines that are pure, vibrant and deeply connected to their origin, combining the structure of the Rhône with the finesse often associated with Burgundy.

Adrien farms 2.3 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards, planted predominantly to Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The vines average over 50 years old, rooted in complex clay, limestone, sand and alluvial soils at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Viticulture is guided by careful observation and respect for nature. Cover crops are encouraged during winter, mechanical cultivation replaces herbicides, all fruits are hand harvested with rigorous double sorting, and vineyard work increasingly incorporates biodynamic principles alongside organic farming.

The cellar philosophy is equally restrained. Fermentations rely exclusively on indigenous yeasts with minimal sulphur additions only when necessary. Macerations extend for over a month with approximately 20% whole clusters, using gentle pump overs and punch downs to preserve elegance over extraction. Around one-third of the blend is matured in seasoned Burgundy oak demi-muids, adding texture and complexity while allowing the fruit and terroir to remain the focus.

Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret “Les Jardins” 2025
50% Grenache / 25% Syrah / 25% Mourvèdre. His inaugural cuvée, Les Jardins, blends fruit from all of his parcels. The result is a vibrant and expressive Southern Rhône blend offering aromas of red berries, crushed strawberry and fresh mint. The palate is fresh, layered and finely balanced, combining ripe dark fruit with savoury spice, silky tannins and impressive energy. A modern interpretation of Séguret that favours elegance, precision and drinkability over sheer power.
