Alexandre Grimée
Vallée de la Marne

Planted in 1973 by his grandparents, a tiny 0.6ha parcel in Bonneil—an overlooked village in the western Marne Valley—set the foundation of Alexandre champagnes. Mid-slope, south-facing, between forest and river, the site is perfectly tuned for Pinot Meunier. Fifty years on, these old vines deliver some of the region’s most compelling expressions. Alexandre Grimée began his journey in 2014 at just 18—and quickly made his mark. Minuscule in scale, Alexandre is making some of the most compelling single vineyard Meunier in Champagne. His approach is without compromise: one wine, one plot, one village, one vintage. Today, the estate spans just 1 hectare, producing around 2,000 bottles a year—rare, sought-after, and already cult among Champagne lovers.
Certified organic, rooted in calcareous clay on steep southern slopes, the vineyard gives Meunier full ripening power. Everything is done by Alexandre alone, from vine to bottle, with a philosophy of precision and restraint.
Only the heart of the press is kept. Fermented and aged in a single stainless steel tank. No blending. No fixed recipe. Even malolactic fermentation is decided vintage by vintage—to preserve freshness or build roundness depending on the year. The flagship cuvee “Sous Les Trous” is never repeated—each release is a new interpretation, shaped entirely by nature and Alexandre’s relentless pursuit of purity.
Tiny production. Singular vision. Pinot Meunier through another dimension.
