Domaine Leovila

Léocadie Benech

Founded by Léocadie Benech, Domaine Leovila is one of Burgundy's most exciting new estates. After studying oenology in Bordeaux, Léocadie honed her craft at renowned domaines including Château Figeac, Simon Bize and Dujac, before joining Didier Fornerol in Corgoloin. Over several years she became Didier's trusted collaborator, vinifying the 2023 vintage before being chosen to succeed him upon his retirement. She officially took over the 6.5-hectare estate for the 2025 vintage, while beginning its conversion to organic farming.
Located in the southern Côte de Nuits, Domaine Leovila embraces a philosophy of precision and restraint. Whole-cluster fermentation is used where appropriate, new oak is kept to a minimum, and gentle extraction preserves purity, freshness and the individual character of each vineyard. The result is a collection of wines that favour elegance over power—whites that are vibrant and mineral with remarkable energy, and reds that are perfumed, refined and transparently expressive of Pinot Noir.
Despite releasing its inaugural vintage only in 2025, Domaine Leovila has already attracted widespread attention. Burgundy critic Steen Öhman of Winehog described the first wines as "pure and delicate," praising their freshness, balance and assured winemaking, and highlighting the domaine as one of the region's most promising new talents. With a small annual production, Domaine Leovila is a producer destined to become highly sought after by Burgundy enthusiasts.
Why Vibrant: Leovila combines the heritage of Didier Fornerol with the fresh vision of Léocadie Benech, producing elegant, terroir-driven Burgundies, making its mark as one of Burgundy's most promising new domaines.
