COTE DE NUITS
Gérard Peirazeau & Fils (Morey St Denis)

Born from the iconic Groffier family (ie. Robert Groffier), Domaine Peirazeau carries serious Burgundy pedigree. Today, Laurent Peirazeau—grandson of Bernadette Groffier—together with Sophie Charlopin, is shaping a new chapter. Since 2019, they’ve taken control of vinification, moving from grape sales to fully expressing their own identity.
The estate spans just 3.65 hectares across the Côte de Nuits’ most coveted villages: Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin. A tiny footprint, yet an extraordinary lineup—13 appellations including 5 Grand Crus (Clos de Bèze, Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Bonnes-Mares) plus the legendary Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses. Old vines dominate (average 60+ years, up to 80), bringing natural concentration and depth.
In the vineyard, everything is done by hand, with a strong organic mindset. The philosophy is simple: great wine starts in the vines. In the cellar, the approach is equally precise and restrained—native fermentations, gentle extraction, minimal intervention, gravity handling, and ~18 months ageing in French oak (moderate new oak, adapted to each cuvée and vintage).
The result is a style that speaks clearly of place: pure Pinot Noir, vibrant red and dark fruit, silky textures, freshness and balance. Power is never forced—everything is about finesse, precision and drinkability. Each cuvée highlights its terroir, from juicy, energetic Bourgogne to deep, structured Grand Crus built for ageing.
A discreet but serious Côte de Nuits address—exceptional terroirs, tiny volumes, and wines defined by elegance, purity and emotion.
