Les Jardins Vivants is one of Burgundy's most uncompromising micro-estates, founded by Tino Kuban after taking over the renowned domaine of Bernard Van Berg in 2017. Originally from Berlin, Tino has quickly established himself as one of the region's most exciting natural winemakers, producing remarkably pure, terroir-driven wines from just 1.5 hectares of organically certified vineyards.

The vineyards are certified organic and farmed according to biodynamic principles, with full biodynamic certification as the long-term goal. Vines are braided rather than hedged, cover crops are encouraged to promote biodiversity, and cultivation is carried out with horses, winches and lightweight equipment to minimise soil compaction. Yields are among the lowest in Burgundy, often below 10 hectolitres per hectare, with no more than four bunches retained per vine. Harvest takes place exclusively during the cool morning hours over multiple passes through each vineyard, ensuring only perfectly ripe fruit is selected at optimal phenolic maturity. In the cellar, grapes are fermented with 100% whole clusters and indigenous yeasts, and handled without racking or sulphur during élevage. Both reds and whites mature for at least 18 months in Stockinger oak barrels, with the oldest vines reserved for the domaine's flagship "Réserve" bottlings, which receive extended ageing.

Through painstaking vineyard work and an uncompromising commitment to minimal intervention winemaking, every decision is made to maximise vineyard, resulting in a distinctive expression of Burgundy—wines of remarkable purity, precision, tension and energy, where texture, minerality and terroir take centre stage.

Wine style : Les Jardins Vivants whites are defined by intense but controlled reduction, remarkable concentration from low yields, and long élevage that builds texture without sacrificing energy. The reds are perfumed, vibrant and beautifully transparent. Whole-cluster fermentation and gentle extraction deliver silky tannins, bright acidity and an elegant expression of Pinot Noir where freshness and terroir take centre stage.

Why Vibrant : Les Jardins Vivants captures Burgundy at its most uncompromising—ultra low yields, meticulous farming and winemaking producing wines of extraordinary complexity, concentration and ageing potential.

Elegant and intensely floral, delivering all the refinement of great Meursault without any buttery or oaky character. Pure, precise and remarkably poised, with a level of finesse and complexity that already easily rivals burgundy's great whites.
Les Jardins Vivants Les Gouttes Reserve 2022

From the oldest vines of the parcel, this cuvée strikes a beautiful balance between the site’s floral character and the natural concentration of old vines. Intense and remarkably mineral, with a subtle touch of reduction already well integrated. A young wine, yet already irresistibly charming and highly approachable.
Les Jardins Vivants Les Vaux 2023

Les Jardins Vivants Les Magnies 2022

Les Jardins Vivants Les Gamets 2023

Type : Red

Pinot Noir co-planted with Gamay. Strikingly mineral and beautifully reductive, it opens with red berries, smoke, toasted nuts and delicate florals. Les Jardins Vivants En Buzigny 2023

Type : Red

An iconic parcel, bordering Meursault and planted with old vines of Pinot Noir. The nose is captivatingly deep and expressive, bursting with ripe red berries, peony, blackcurrant and sweet spices. The palate mirrors the aromatics beautifully: layered, concentrated and seamless, with all the allure of whole-cluster
vinification yet none of the green tannins. Silky, haunting and utterly seductive.
Les Jardins Vivants En Belle Rose 2023

Type : Red

A captivating whole cluster nose of dried rose, peony and red berries leads to a palate of incredible finesse,
silky tannins and extraordinary length. Floral, layered and deeply complex, with notes of strawberry, raspberry, spices, black tea and subtle smoke. It leans more toward a classic whole cluster style than Buzigny, emphasizing elegance and complexity over sheer power.
Les Jardins Vivants Les Echalas 2022

Type : Red

From very old vines bordering Meursault, all trained in échalas and
yielding tiny quantities. Extraordinary power and concentration, balanced by remarkable
freshness and tension. Intense aromas of black cherry, wild strawberry and cassis mingle
with peony, rose petals, sweet spices and a touch of smoky reduction. Despite its depth, the
wine remains incredibly refined, with silky tannins, flawless balance and a seemingly endless
finish. A monumental Pinot Noir with immense ageing potential.
